Who is Carlynn?
Hi, I’m Carlynn! It’s great to meet you! I grew up in a small town located in the very northeast corner of Mississippi called Iuka. Growing up in a small town gifted me with a strong sense of faith, church, family and close knit community. I can vouch that no matter where you go in a small town, you can count on ‘going where everyone knows your name’! One of its many endearing charms.
I attended Mississippi State University (#hailstate) and upon graduation, promptly moved to the big city of Houston, Texas. Culture shock is a serious understatement! Even after 19 years, I still struggle. Small town girl meets big city…you can take the girl out of the small town but you can’t take the small town out of the girl.
I share life with my husband. I am the mother of two furry children (cats) and I’m a stepmom too. I find connection to myself and others through writing. My best thinking can be done this way. Through Perspective Confessions, you will find me sharing journal entries, my experience of being small town girl in the big city, Career Confessions, Financial Health, and wellbeing.
I’m always keeping my eye on the big picture…creating a stressless more fulfilling, meaningful life for myself and my loved ones. It’s all about exploring the extremes of experiences to find a better balance. I’m glad you’re here, I hope you will pull up a seat and stay awhile!
